Join us on Friday 16th June for a Special Fundraising Evening
Celebrating the Re-Opening of the Finishing Straight
We are thrilled to offer Patrons, Members, Donors and Motorsport fans the chance to join us for our Gala Fundraising Evening in support of Re-Engineering Brooklands.
This summer the culmination of the Brooklands Aircraft Factory and Race Track Revival project will see the Finishing Straight revealed for the first time since 1940. Once more visitors will be able to see the iconic pre-war view of the famous Brooklands Banking from the restored BARC Clubhouse. On the 17th of June – 110 years to the day since the Brooklands Track was officially opened in 1907 – the Finishing Straight will be re-opened, and the following day competition will return to that section of Track for the first time since 1939, as part of the annual Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival.
On Friday 16th June, the night before the official re-opening, we will be celebrating this momentous occasion and raising money for the Finishing Straight restoration and the Museum’s associated new learning activities at a very special Gala Fundraising Evening. At a Pre-Dinner Reception on the Track itself, guests will witness the return to this hallowed stretch of concrete of some of the most important Brooklands cars and bikes for the first time in over 75 years. A black-tie Dinner in the Clubhouse will follow, with the chance to win some wonderful prizes.
